    Ivanhoe Mines Ltd was originally incorporated under the Company Act (British Columbia) on April 29, 1993 under the name KBK No. 7 Ventures Ltd. The Company is a mineral exploration and development company. The Company together with its subsidiaries, explores, develops and recovers minerals and precious gems from its property interests located mainly in Africa and Australia. The Company currently has three projects The Kamoa Project; a copper deposit discovered by the Company beyond the previously known western limit of the Central African Copperbelt, in Katanga Province, DRC. The Platreef Project, where the Company recently discovered a high grade-thickness PGE, gold, nickel and copper deposit on the northern limb of the Bushveld Complex, in South Africa. The Kipushi Project, a past-producing high-grade underground zinc and copper mine in the Central African Copperbelt, in Katanga Province, DRC. The Company also holds interests in prospective mineral properties in the DRC, South Africa, Gabon, and Australia.
